When meeting the pressmen, the Swedish Scania informed them that the company invested EUR 10 mln in the Distribution Center near by Kyiv in 2009.

At the turn of September this year, the biggest world heavy-duty truck and bus manufacturer is going to open the Distribution & Service Center for Scania trucks and buses near by Kyiv, Makariv District, 10 km from Kyiv along the Zhytomyr Highway.

According to Scania Ukraine Commercial Director, the new center will occupy over 4,7 thousand sq. m, with 18 service points, test and tool control line and body repair unit. Mr. Doplyakian noted that the company in long-term outlook of 10 years plans to extend its trade & service chain up to 20-25 stations.

Evaluating a current state of the market, Mr. Doplyakian said that the first quarter would show a very low demand for trucks. However, the forwarders now have shown concern and sat for negotiation particularly in the segments, where the crisis is felt less than elsewhere i.e. in agrarian, food and processing sectors.
